Can you believe it’s almost the end of August already!! It is my busiest time of the year with “retreat season” and finalising all my patterns for 2019!! (I know crazy!!!)

Bag Making Retreat

August has seen 2 of my bag queen retreats at Stacey’s At The Gap where I was so lucky to work with an amazing bunch of ladies creating beautiful bags, eating yummy food and building friendships. Retreats for me are such an honour, I appreciate that people take time out to be away from their families and travel often long distances to spend time with me. Leonie from Stacey’s At The Gap makes sure we are well fed and provides the most peaceful and beautiful venue. (I have asked her if I can move in but she says no!! ;))

How's the serenity.

2019 retreats saw us making my upcoming pattern – The Maker’s Loot Bag. This bag was designed specifically for ladies to have an amazing bag to store their crafty projects and tools while travelling to retreats and classes. The Maker’s Loot Bag features a cute removeable pouch which can also be attached to other bags making it super versatile. It was such a fun project to make and I love seeing all of the variations that come from people’s unique fabric choices.

Enough talk from me, here are some photos of the completed Maker’s Loot Bags made at retreat. Enjoy!

How fabulous do these Maker’s Loot Bags look!! So much variety from one pattern, I love it!

All the pretties in a row!!

Thankyou to everyone who attended my 2019 August retreats, it was a pleasure to spend time with you.

I thought I would share a few testimonials with you from the weekend also:

Kim from Burpengary: “Great retreat, Kylie is a lovely, patient, motivating teacher. Stacey’s At The Gap – great food, beautiful accommodation, great host – had a wonderful weekend.”

Nancy from Goondiwindi: “Feeling very special to try out the new ‘Maker’s Loot Bag’ at it’s first retreat! Love it!! Kylie was as usual very helpful. Leonie provided LOTS of food. Thankyou.”

Megan from Toowoomba: “Fantastic, supportive environment to learn and share ideas, but most of all have fun!”

Rhiannon from Ipswich: “Most amazing experience with a wonderful bunch of people. Can’t wait to come back next year!”

Margaret from Ipswich: “Great food, great patterns, great company! Feel lucky to sew a yet to be released pattern in a friendly environment.”

Maureen from Brisbane: “Sew Special, Kylie helps and instructs us to zip through her fantastic projects. And all the lovely ladies kept us in stitches all weekend.”

Wendy from Brisbane: “Great weekend with the lovely Miss Kylie, amazing tutor with an incredible sense of humour. Nothing is too hard nd she has an abundance of patience. See you next time!”

Robyn from Brisbane: “Kylie gives you the confidence to try projects that look difficult but she teaches you ‘the tricks’ that make it easy. Each course with Kylie opens up a list of projects and it really makes you proud when you see what you can make. I would recommend her classes and book.”

Lyn from Brisbane: “How wonderful to be amongst like minded enthusiastic stitchers led by a competent, capable and oh so creative leader! I love all the gadget’s at Kylie’s travelling shop to make your sewing special. It’s always amazing to see 1 pattern interpreted so many ways with so many fabrics. And you always get to finish something- usually more than just one! I can’t put into words how wonderful a session with Kylie is! I have so much “show and tell” to take back home and skills to carry me forward on my next stitching adventure.”

Thankyou for your kind words ladies, I am sitting here with proud tears in my eyes. I really do love sharing my skills with you all, I feel so blessed to work with you all xxx
