The start of October 2019 saw me travelling to Sydney to teach a the inaugural Quiltopia event. This amazing event was held at Rosehill Racecourse and attracted exhibitors from all over the country as well as Australian and International tutors.
Here is a little more about Quiltopia: Quiltopia is an annual celebration of everything quilting, needlework and a little bit more!
You’ll find all your dreams come true in the Quilters Block where you can talk to specialists and get hands on with the latest long arm machines, sewing machines, embroidery machines and furniture from national and international brands.
You’ll experience passion in practice in the Learning Studios where Feature Artists and Teachers from around the globe come together and offer exclusive and comprehensive classes.
You’ll shop til you drop in the hustle and bustle of the Market Place with the latest supplies, kits and equipment on offer from the best and most sought-after retailers from across the country.
I taught a range of classes including Bag Making 101 – all the basics you need to begin your bag making journey, The Coffee Clutch and I also launched the Calathea Crossbody Bag pattern. It was such a fun event, I loved seeing old friends and making lots of new ones! Here is some pics of what was an amazing experience. Thanks to everyone who came to a class and stopped by to visit me.
I was so impressed with the Bernina B475 that I am adding one to my collection very soon!! (More details on this in a future blog post).
Meeting new friends is such an awesome part of events I attend. These ladies were sew much fun!!
Sewing friends really are the best!!
Happy Sewing,
