Welcome back my pretties…
Thankyou sew much for joining me for day 2 of The Crafter’s Caddy Sewalong.
I would love to see your makes as you go along, please tag me on instagram and use the #thecrafterscaddysewalong and #thecrafterscaddy so we can all find posts easily and cheer each other along the way!
Let’s get cracking on cutting out our bag shall we!!
Please read the pattern the whole way through before you begin.
- Using the cutting chart, cut ALL your pieces out ready to sew. This may take a while as there are quite a few pieces to this bag. You can adjust the pocket sizes to suit your own storage needs. I find a rotary cutter and ruler help me cut faster as there are a whole lot of rectangles in this bag.
- Following step 1 create your large centre pockets. Design tip: The centre pockets are the focal point of the bag, this is the place to fussy cut and use your most impressive fabric here as your eyes will be drawn to this area first.
3. Following steps 2 & 3 in the pattern, create the side fabric and vinyl pockets. Lay the pockets in place and sew as per the instructions.
Tip: You can replace the KAM Snap with a magnetic snap if you prefer. Make sure the flap piece sits just above the middle pocket (not too high up) as you need room to topstitch the top edge when your caddy if completed.
Now that you have created your exterior pockets Day 2 of the Crafter’s Caddy Sewalong is finished.
Tomorrow we will place the pockets in place and add our straps.
