Welcome to Day 3 of The Wanderer’s Clutch Sew Along.

This is a big one, so get your sewjo ready. I am so excited to be seeing you all share your clutches in my facebook group as you sew along, be sure to check out what everyone is making and drop them an encouraging comment.

Today we are going to create the back phone pocket, zipper tabs, attach the zipper and piece the whole clutch together!! Grab your Escape Travel Set book and work with me step by step to complete your Wanderer’s Clutch.

How gorgeous is this Wanderer’s Clutch by Les Envies De Charlotte.

Let’s get started.

  1. Create your back pocket as per the instructions. You may like these extra steps below, kindly provided by Susie from Twirl Girl Boutique on how to add a phone safety strap to your back pocket. Susie has made this one with raw leather, however the same could be made with cork also.
  2. To add the phone safety strap: Add a magnetic snap to the centre of the exterior piece of the back pocket. Cut two pieces of leather(or cork) 1 1/4″ Wide x 5″ Length, attach the other side of the magnetic snap to one of the leather strips. Place the strips wrong sides together and stitch. Join the magnetic snaps together and stitch the raw edge to hold ihn place, snip off excess leather and continue to create your clutch as per the pattern instructions.

3. Check out my video for the next steps. Make sure you subscribe to my youtube channel to stay in check with future videos I post.

Please take note of the extra tips in this video as they will make sewing your clutch together a little easier.

In this video we cover:
– different types of zippers
– zipper tabs
– piecing your clutch together
– clipping your seams
– closing the turning gap.

Phew! That’s a lot of steps. But your clutch is so close to being finished!! Woohoo.

Don’t forget to pop into my facebook group and have a look at everyone’s beautiful clutches as they sew along, I am loving seeing them all!

If you are on Instagram, check out #wanderersclutchsal to see people’s sewalong posts on there too.

Stay tuned for the next two days of the sew along where we will cover making tassels (my favourite thing to make!!) and how to photograph your clutches.

Thanks so much for joining me for this sew along, I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am.

Happy Sewing.

Kylie.
